Work Environment

You will work onsite at our surgical center in Tacoma, a facility designed to deliver specialized care for children. As part of a cohesive team, you will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to create a welcoming atmosphere for patients and their families. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough examinations and assessments of pediatric patients in an outpatient setting, diagnosing and managing acute and chronic illnesses.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to create and adjust individualized care plans.
• Provide education and resources to patients and families about health management, preventive care, and treatment options.
• Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health records, prioritizing clarity and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Assist in the development of protocols and best practices aimed at improving patient care and safety within the surgical center.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current with medical advancements and pediatric care practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Pediatric Physician Assistant will primarily work with a diverse pediatric population, including infants, children, and adolescents. Understanding the unique healthcare needs of these age groups is critical, as well as demonstrating cultural sensitivity towards low-income and ethnic minority communities. Your role will directly impact the health outcomes of our patients, as you will be their first point of contact for medical needs and concerns.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program and a current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• A minimum of one year of experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in a pediatric setting.
• Active and unrestricted medical licensure in the state of Washington.
• Strong skills in patient communication, documentation, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of state and federal regulations governing pediatric care.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a pediatric outpatient clinic or similar healthcare environment.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and other healthcare documentation software.
• Ability to develop and implement educational materials for patients and families.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to USD 130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
