The Technical Designer oversees the technical product development process and ensures consistency in fit, construction, and quality across assigned product categories. This role is responsible for developing apparel specifications, attending weekly fittings and cross-functional meetings, and issuing fit comments, while maintaining daily communication with vendors. Position is a hybrid-schedule.
What You'll Do:
  • Own fit, construction, quality, and consistency for assigned product categories from development through production.
  • Partner with Design and Product Development to ensure design intent is maintained while achieving optimal fit and manufacturability
  • Communicate directly with vendors to provide fit corrections, specifications, resolve technical issues, and ensure execution aligns with standards
  • Lead fittings with cross-functional partners in attendance and make independent decisions with confidence and technical expertise.
  • Ensure current, accurate, and complete technical information is housed within PLM system.
  • Partner closely with Product Development to track and maintain approval deadlines.
  • Maintain organized fit samples and WIP spreadsheets.
  • Support and provide coverage for Technical Design team as needed.

What You'll Need:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical design, pattern making, or quality assurance, or a combination of education and work experience.
  • High School Diploma required a four (4)-year college degree in fashion merchandising/design preferred.
  • Previous technical design experience in Intimates is highly desirable.
  • Previous retail or garment manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including Adobe Illustrator, MS Word, and Excel.
  • PLM experience preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of fit, balance, pattern grading, garment construction/production, fabrics, and fabric performance.
  • Effectively manages deadlines, prioritizes workload, adapts to change, and maintains composure under pressure.

Salary range: $78,000-$98,000
