Are you interested in a future career in medicine? Looking to become an MD or PA? The Gap Year Medical Assistant Program at Dermatology Associates of Concord allows you to gain valuable direct patient care experience to prepare you for the next step in your career.


Established in 1972, Dermatology Associates of Concord is a leading Physician-owned dermatology practice dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients. The practice consists of 14 providers and has offices in Concord, Cambridge, and Waltham. We specialize in both medical and cosmetic dermatology, offering a comprehensive range of services to meet the diverse needs of our community. Our team of dedicated staff work collaboratively to offer personalized treatment in a welcoming and patient-centered environment. Our commitment to excellence, innovation, and patient satisfaction has established us as a trusted leader in dermatologic care.


This is a full-time (40 hrs/wk) position working as a hands-on medical assistant in our Concord, Cambridge and Waltham, MA locations. Must have the ability to travel between offices.


Responsibilities:

  • One-on-one assignment with a physician/dermatologist
  • Responsible for inputting/obtaining patient data and transcribing visit details
  • Assisting in various procedures including surgical excisions, biopsies, laser treatments, Botox and fillers, etc.
  • Opportunities to learn interpreting of pathology results and to coordinate patient care

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Transportation to Concord, MA, Waltham, MA and Cambridge, MA
  • Willingness/desire to learn clinical medicine on a steep learning curve
  • Ability to take in and process information quickly
  • Multitasking in a fast paced environment
