JOB SUMMARY:
The Utah Mammoth seeks a Senior Director of Game Presentation to lead the strategic vision and execution of the in-arena entertainment experience for Utah Mammoth games and related events at the Delta Center. This role requires producing world-class events, leveraging current technology, engagement trends, and ensuring brand integrity alongside partner integrations.
The Senior Director of Game Presentation will oversee live production and entertainment verticals within the Game Presentation department, and will collaborate closely with them to ensure alignment and innovative storytelling. They should bring a creative mindset, with the ability to reimagine in-arena experiences and craft compelling narratives that resonate with fans. This individual must have a strong understanding of corporate partnerships, working closely with sponsors to craft in-game promotions and theme nights. They will balance sponsor needs while maintaining a focus on fan engagement and authentic storytelling. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking leader, capable of delivering best-in-class experiences that elevate the Utah Mammoth's in-arena experience.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership
  • Direct the creation and production of in-arena presentations for all Utah Mammoth home games and related events, ensuring every game reflects the organization's commitment to excellence and fan engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Marketing to develop and execute a comprehensive, long-term vision for game presentation that aligns with organizational goals and fan expectations.
  • Continuously research and implement cutting-edge entertainment trends and technologies to elevate the in-arena experience and create unforgettable moments for fans.

Event Production
  • Lead and coordinate pre-game rehearsals to guarantee seamless integration of all show elements, including technical assets, entertainment, and partner activations.
  • Create detailed scripts and run-of-show documents to guide all production elements, ensuring alignment with the brand strategy and enhancing the overall fan experience.
  • Collaborate with corporate partnerships to design and execute in-game promotions, theme nights, and partner activations that engage fans while meeting sponsor expectations.
  • Identify, recruit, and collaborate with top-tier talent from the music, entertainment, and sports industries to enhance live event productions and create a dynamic in-game atmosphere.

Team Management
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to game night staff, entertainers, and production teams, fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration.
  • Oversee the hiring, training, and ongoing development of full-time and part-time team members, ensuring a high-performing and motivated workforce capable of executing exceptional events.
  • Collaborate with Brand and Creative Services leaders and departments for all creative requests, storytelling elements, and in-arena graphic and video elements.

Technology & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with NHL regulations and league standards, integrating these guidelines into all aspects of game presentation to maintain a professional and competitive edge.
  • Continuously monitor and implement technological advancements to enhance videoboard elements, sound systems, and overall entertainment quality, staying ahead of industry trends.

Budget Management
  • Oversee the allocation and management of budgets and resources for Game Presentation and Production initiatives, ensuring maximum efficiency and impact within financial parameters.
  • Develop and maintain a balanced approach to budget allocation, prioritizing key elements that enhance the fan experience while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

Inclusivity & Safety
  • Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives, fostering an environment where all team members and fans feel valued, respected, and represented.
  • Implement and uphold rigorous safety protocols to protect employees, performers, and fans during events, ensuring a secure and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in live entertainment production, preferably in professional sports or similar high-profile industries, showcasing a proven ability to deliver exceptional results under pressure.
  • At least five years of management experience, including training, mentoring, and supervising staff to foster high-performing teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, work independently, take initiative, and effectively incorporate creative direction and feedback.
  • Demonstrates exceptional organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Exhibits sound judgment and discretion in interpersonal interactions, with a high level of emotional intelligence and self-awareness.
  • Displays a deep understanding of current pop culture trends and seamlessly integrates them into engaging run-of-show elements.
  • Thrives in collaborative group settings, serving as a reliable and adaptable team player across departments and the organization.
  • Proactively identifies problems, evaluates causes, and implements effective solutions without disrupting day-to-day operations.
  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion when managing sensitive information.
  • Willingness to work extended or irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
  • Attendance is mandatory at all Utah Mammoth home games and Delta Center events as needed.
  • Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Capable of walking, sitting, bending, and standing for extended periods while directing events in an arena setting.
  • Proficient in working with technology and performing computer-based tasks for long periods in a dynamic arena environment.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. comfortably.
