Job Summary

Athletics at CU Boulder encourages applications for a Community Outreach Fan Engagement & Game Day Associate! This on-call position plays a key role in creating memorable game-day experiences by engaging with fans, supporting interactive promotions, and assisting with community outreach activations at Colorado Athletics events.

The Community Outreach Fan Engagement & Game Day Associate helps implement fan engagement initiatives, youth programming, Kids Club activities, on-field and in-venue promotions, and other special events. Working closely with the Community Outreach team, the Associate supports game-day operations while building meaningful connections with fans, alumni, campus partners, and the local community. Additionally, this role will participate in various projects, supervise and assist with updating the website and participate in brainstorming for events.

This role is ideal for individuals interested in fan engagement, event operations, sports marketing, customer experience, and community outreach who thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy collegiate athletics environment and are passionate about creating experiences for Buffs fans.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Game Day Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help develop and organize Chip's Kids Club events and membership initiatives.
  • Assist with Ralphie's Kids Roundup and Read with the Buffs.
  • Support student-athlete appearances and community service opportunities.
  • Assist with event planning and execution.
  • Assist with outreach inventory and promotional materials
  • Attend community events as needed.
  • Contribute to website and event services systems
  • Lead set-up and breakdown of community activations including all kids club events on game days and community events.
  • Interact with families and fans to help answer questions and promote all Community Outreach areas.
  • Have knowledge about game day policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the Community Outreach Manage.
What You Should Know
  • This is an on-call position with variable hours based on competitions and events. This role needs to be available to work after 5 pm and on weekends for events, games and special occasions.
  • This role is working in-person.

What We Require
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift or move event equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
What You Will Need
  • Ability to lead students.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, judgment, initiative and attention to detail.
  • Phenomenal verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competence with various software packages: Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive.
  • Digital literacy including experience in desktop publishing (illustrator, Photoshop, etc).
  • Familiarity with social media networks.
  • Ability to organize multiple tasks, meet set timelines, plan schedules and coordinate events.
  • Leadership and a dedication to providing outstanding customer service.
What We Would Like You to Have
  • Experience in customer outreach, fan engagement, event operations, athletics, promotions, or community outreach.
  • Experience working with community groups or youth organizations.
  • Experience operating community wide events.
  • One or more years of experience with an NCAA college athletic program.
  • Understanding of NCAA rules and regulations as they pertain to content and communications.
  • Knowledge of NCAA and Big 12 rules and regulations.
  • Experience in customer service, event management, collegiate athletics, community engagement, or related fields.
