Description:

The Furnace Operator runs and maintains the processing of the furnace in accordance with the type of metal that is being melted as well as implementing the appropriate safety procedures.


1. Ensure furnace is running properly and is consistently running at the correct temperature

2. Skim and scrape surface of furnace as needed throughout shift

3. Maintain processing and pouring schedule according to type of metal and necessary temperature

4. Clean and treat pour spouts as needed

5. Check and perform preventative maintenance on necessary equipment

6. Maintain a clean work area

7. Troubleshoot any issues that may arise in work area

8. Follow company dress code and use proper PPE at all times

Any other duties as assigned

Requirements:

1. Ability to work as part of a team

2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Willing to work overtime and weekends when necessary
