What is a funnel hacker?

A Funnel Hacker is someone who studies, analyzes, and replicates successful online sales funnels to improve their own marketing strategies and business growth. This person typically examines how other companies attract and convert customers, then applies these insights by building or optimizing their own funnels using tools like ClickFunnels. Funnel Hackers focus on increasing sales, maximizing conversions, and automating the customer journey. They are often skilled in marketing, copywriting, and digital analytics.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a funnel hacker?

To thrive as a Funnel Hacker, you need a strong understanding of digital marketing strategies, sales funnel design, and conversion optimization, often supported by experience with online marketing or related certifications. Familiarity with funnel-building platforms like ClickFunnels, analytics tools such as Google Analytics, and email marketing systems is crucial. Creativity, analytical thinking, and strong problem-solving abilities help you stand out in crafting high-performing funnels. These skills enable you to drive targeted traffic, maximize conversions, and achieve business growth objectives efficiently.

What are common challenges funnel hackers face when optimizing sales funnels, and how can they overcome them?

Funnel Hackers often encounter challenges such as low conversion rates, unclear customer journeys, and integrating multiple marketing tools. Overcoming these obstacles requires a strong analytical mindset to evaluate data, conduct A/B testing, and continually iterate on funnel steps. Collaboration with designers, copywriters, and developers is crucial to ensure that each stage of the funnel aligns with both user experience and business goals. Staying updated on the latest funnel-building tools and digital marketing trends also helps Funnel Hackers address these challenges effectively.

Job description

About the company

Taste Labs is building the data and infrastructure layer for taste. Our goal is to end AI slop. To make AI feel right, not just be correct. We raised $18.5M in seed co-led by Amplify and CRV, and most frontier labs are already customers.

AI has nailed objective domains and can generate anything. The hard part left is judgement: what fits, what feels like you, what's actually GREAT. We're turning that into something measurable, starting with design.

We do it on two sides: building the post‑training data and RL environments that teach taste to frontier models, and the context and verification tools agents need to produce work that's more creative, more on‑brand, more right.

If that problem excites you, you'll like it here!

About the role

To solve the problem of AI slop, we need to be able to attract the best TasteMakers out there. Your role will be around growing and productizing this community.

You’ll apply growth playbooks to grow the top of funnel. You will own the systems, metrics, and process improvements to “productize” our funnel.

You should think like a product person, leverage like a growth person, you care for creativity like a marketer, and execute like an operations person.

Example problems you’d work on
  • Growing the community top of funnel: working with ops, recruiting and design to map gaps in the community and plan growth tactics to increase qualified top of funnel in each (e.g. email marketing, ads, growth hacking, referrals)
  • Process design: design the process to improve the top of funnel, mid funnel and bottom funnel of the community
  • Data analysis and supply graph: you’d setup the systems and analysis to map the health, engagement and skills of our community, in order to inform top of funnel and bottom funnel changes
  • Retention: you’ll create retention and engagement tactics for the current community members.
  • Growth hacking: you’ll come up with clever ways to grow this and other products in a non‑obvious way.
  • Ads & SEO: you’ll setup SEO tactics and in the future, targeted ads
  • Messaging: you’ll craft messaging and comms plans to nail the delivery of these tactics
  • Reward design: you’ll think through monetization, gamification and reward design
Who we’re looking for
  • Startup mindset: you move quickly, you’re scrappy, you have a can‑do attitude and you do whatever it takes
  • You deeply care about people: you want to create great experiences and care about the details
  • You’re comfortable with data, excel, and claude code/cursor/codex. You have experience running analysis and setting up databases or dashboards
  • You have experience in or feel excited by learning domains like SEO or paid ads.
  • You have experience in growth, operations, community or generalist startup roles
