Overview
Nakupuna Consulting is seeking a Project Manager to support a team within the Office of Secretary of War (OSW) client. This individual will manage a contract team to provide exceptional service delivery to OSW Senior Executives with comprehensive business operations support. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver, critical thinker, clear communicator, and experience managing a team.
Responsibilities
The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign additional duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.
  • Provide functional project management and support a team across multiple client offices.
  • Provide project management and communications support on contract, including at Pentagon and Mark Center locations, as needed. Tasks may include but are not limited to drafting and compiling Staffing Reports, Monthly Status Reports and Project Status Review briefs; drafting and reviewing client deliverables; developing presentations.
  • Individually contribute with contract deliverables and oversee corporate/contractually compliance.
  • Coach, mentor, and train team members. Be accountable for employee engagement and adjudicating stakeholder feedback.
  • Manage personnel actions, including recruiting and hiring process as well as performance plans.
  • Manage corporate project updates and burn plans.
  • Collaborate with Executives, Senior Managers, Project Managers, and Shared Services, including the Program Management Office, to promote and facilitate high quality service delivery.
  • Serve as single point of contact for contract. Engage with high-level clients and COR to obtain performance feedback on a regular basis.
  • Strive to continuously improve processes and service delivery.

Qualifications
Skills/Qualifications: The ideal candidate possesses expertise and experience in the business development cycle. Specifically, the ideal candidate will be familiar with and have experience with the following technical knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Proven contract management skills and experience leading teams. Experience working in or with federal government, preferably OSW, and/or military is required.
  • Strong attention to detail. Strong writing, editing, and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness to take initiative and solve problems.
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritize. Ability to work under pressure and sometimes after core business hours to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment. Adaptability is critical to success in this role.
  • Willingness to share expertise and coach others and to give and receive honest feedback.

Education and Experience: This position requires at least five years of relevant experience. A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required. PMP certification is preferred.
Location: This position reports to the Pentagon 5 days per week.
Clearance Requirements: TS/SCI clearance is required. Must be a US Citizen.
Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers.
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.

The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $130,000 to $150,000 per year. The hourly rate displayed represents the typical rate for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
