Propulsion Systems Division Manufacturing organization has an opening for a Principal Technical Services Project Management in Promontory, Utah to support our new Operation Program Management (OPM) department in the Space Systems Division. The Manufacturing OPM team are the interface between the Business Division (National Security Systems Satellites) and Manufacturing.
This individual will work closely with the Manufacturing Work Centers and Program Management. This position is responsible for schedule management and cost accountability of Manufacturing activities for their respective Business Division to determine the most practical and cost-efficient methods to obtain the optimal program execution. The candidate must possess excellent communication skills - both verbal and written; strong interpersonal skills; a good problem solving mindset; and the ability to present program visibility at internal/external meetings to include all levels of management including executive level.
Responsibilities Include:
-Utilize fundamental electrical or mechanical principles to drive production and design changes that result in superior products
- Mechanical Manufacturing Processes; Developing work center efficiencies mapping to in include troubleshooting manufacturing production lines and identify root cause analysis manufacturing issues.
- Develops manufacturing engineering processes, manufacturing processes shall enable the manufacturing of current and future products that meet technical specifications, high quality standards, and relevant agency compliance requirements
-Define, implement and monitor process metrics associated with manufacturing work cell functionality.
-Identify and propose manufacturing improvement projects in collaboration with team members such as manufacturing process improvement, yield management, production rate improvement and work cell enhancements and procurement
- Ensure Manufacturing has the needed resources (resources Manufacturing needs as well as allocation of resources from Manufacturing) to execute the programs
-Managing and maintaining the day to day interfaces and communications between the assigned Program Management Office (PMO), Manufacturing, Test, Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP), Mission Assurance (MA), Supply Chain (SCM), Engineering, and Shipping.
-Identify systems and process goals to ensure that work cells and equipment meet operational performance and usage requirements. This would include identifying preventive maintenance activities to be included in the Manufacturing Preventive Maintenance Program
- Facilitating internal meetings in a way to support design, production, and problem resolutions.
- Engage and collaborate with programs and functional organizations (from individual contributors to executive staff) to obtain, understand, and interpret manufacturing facilitation and scheduling requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM area (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and 5 years of relevant work experience or 3 years of relevant work experience with a Master's degree
-The candidate must have experience in leadership and project management
- Experience working in Manufacturing, Engineering, Test, Production, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering
-Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
-MS Office applications including Excel, Word, Project, and Power Point
-Experience in engineering or manufacturing
-Working knowledge of Cost Point and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems
-Candidate must have demonstrated ability in working with cross organizational teams and customers
-Experience with SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and MS Office applications including Excel, Word, Project, and Power Point
Preferred Qualifications:
-Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business Management, Manufacturing, Industrial or Quality Engineering
-Active security clearance
-Demonstrated expertise in the following systems and concepts:
-MRP and IMS Scheduling
-Windchill, TipQA, Cognos
-Earned Value Management
-Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing and Manufacturing
-Excellent presentation and communication skills
-Program execution experience
Primary Level Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $147,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
