Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector (NGAS) is seeking a Manager of Project Management 2 of Commercial and Engine Programs to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The position will be based in Clearfield, Utah.
This Manager of Project Management position will oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as the liaison between customers, and the execution IPT. They will be responsible for developing reviews, providing project status and defining project budgets; managing schedules and developing status reports. The project manager will be responsible for assessing project and program issues and developing resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. They will also develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and customers.
Role Description and Responsibilities:
  • Excellent leadership skills aligned with the company's values.
  • Manages the customer IPT of the A350 program.
  • Program Manager responsibilities include planning and program performance addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of NRE projects as awarded by the customers.
  • Demonstrates and drives the importance of a strong culture of accountability, excellence, employee engagement, and belonging.
  • Assignments are received in objective oriented terms. Work is reviewed for adequacy in meeting objectives.
  • Oversees projects and tasks assigned to the functional organization(s) within the IPT responsible for completion of tasks. Responsible for providing objective-oriented direction to peers and functional organizations utilizing management guidelines & general policies. Becomes involved only when required to assist in meeting schedules or to resolve technical or operational problems.
  • Ensures that projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Supports the execution of the LRSP and AOP through driving execution.
  • Develops and owns program risks, issues, and opportunities (RIO) identifying program and project RIOs and accurately estimate and capture potential financial impacts.
  • Leads weekly customer telecoms and program reviews to meet customer and program needs.
  • Drive technical excellence by setting program standards, enabling cross-functional support and reach across multiple NG sectors and divisions, effectively managing risk and opportunities, and delivering performance.
  • Oversee the continued execution of established program plan.
  • Service the customer by executing the program and resolving issues in accordance with business objectives, strategy, legal requirements, regulations, contract terms, and company policies.
  • Provide overall leadership and direction to the internal functional team that includes resolving conflict, reviewing performance, and initiating process improvement and corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure strategic teaming and positioning with key suppliers and subcontractors.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of related experience as defined below, OR a Master's degree and 6 years of related experience as defined below:
  • Related experience includes professional and/or military experience to include a background in project management, program management, engineering, capture efforts, and/or business management related functions.
  • A thorough knowledge of program management for production programs.
  • Experience managing major programs with more than $25M sales annually.
  • Experience with Firm Fixed Price and cost type contracts.
  • An understanding of business and strategy development.
  • Knowledge of business systems, including Earned Value Management, Risk and Opportunity Management, and contract management.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide verbal and written information clearly, succinctly, and persuasively.
  • Experience working with prime contractor procurement leadership.
  • Experience working as a control account manager (CAM).
  • Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. Government Secret Clearance and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, science, engineering, or other relevant business experience (Leadership, Finance, etc.).
  • Experience working with international customers.

Primary Level Salary Range: $115,000.00 - $172,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
