Job Description

The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division is currently hiring for a full-time Steward Driver in our Campus Dining department. The UOES division oversees the University's event management, hospitality, and customer service functions, while also supporting student life, academic initiatives, research activities, and annual milestone celebrations.

Steward Driver

The Steward Driver is responsible for delivering food, equipment and supplies to and from Campus Dining Operations, including but not limited to Athletic Training facilities, Day cares, Auxiliary operations located near Campus, and Retail Dining operations. You will ensure accuracy of orders to various internal customers while maintaining superior customer service. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver food, equipment, and supplies to and from Campus Dining operations
  • Pick up bakery and other items from Center for Culinary Excellence and deliver to various Campus Dining operations
  • Load/Unload trucks, put away food and goods as designated
  • Check product and equipment that is received
  • Ensure products are rotated properly
  • Maintain a sanitary and safe storeroom
  • Sweep, mop, dust and remove boxes to keep work area clean and organized
Qualifications
  • Capable of managing time effectively with minimal supervision
  • Positive, respectful, and committed to the schedule you create
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time (up to 6 hours at a time).
  • Ability to move, lift and handle equipment, supplies and other objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to position self to move items weighing up to 25 pounds from floor to shelves and cabinets above and below counter height
  • Follow food safety procedures for handling, storing, and serving food products
