Job description

  • JOB RELATIONSHIPS
    • Responsible to Cardiopulmonary Services Clinical Director.
  • DEFINITION OF POSITION
    • The Polysomnographic Technologist Supervisor works under the general supervision of the Medical Director or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education. A Polysomnographic Technologist can perform the duties defined herein and may provide supervision of other staff members.
  • QUALIFICATIONS
    • Professional
      • Successfully completed a sleep medicine program that meets the standards established by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
      • Must be Registered with the State of North Carolina Medical Board (Effective January 1, 2012).
      • Must be a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) with 3-5 years of recent work experience in Polysomnography.
      • 1-year experience in a supervisory position preferred.
      • Knowledge of current trends and techniques.
      • Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
      • Proficient verbal/written skills.
    • Working Conditions
      • Generally comfortable surroundings.
      • Extensive walking and standing.
      • Variable work hours expected (4-12 shifts).
      • Exposure to infectious diseases.
