Job description

TransCore (TCI), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Sr Project Manager to join our team in Tampa, Florida.
Summary:
The Senior Project Manager will collaborate with Project Managers and Operations Managers to oversee all aspects of project delivery for TransCore's initiatives. This role works closely with regional teams to coordinate activities and contribute directly to project tasks and deliverables. Responsibilities include managing projects from initiation through completion, organizing cross-functional efforts, and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. The Senior Project Manager also serves as an internal consultant, supporting activities such as evaluating needs, assessing vendors, and planning and directing implementation efforts. This position requires on-site work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Initiates project kick-off, plans, executes, monitors and controls, and closes projects.
  • Manages the financial performance of project delivery.
  • Builds and maintains project schedules per project requirements.
  • Prepares, implements, and monitors schedule and cost controls.
  • Defines customer requirements and manages customer relationships.
  • Supports or leads business development activities, including team development, proposal management, and pricing estimates.
  • Demonstrates understanding of business objectives and priorities.
  • Ensures quality assurance for project deliverables and processes.
  • Manages projects to ensure:
    • Deliverables meet quality standards and stakeholder expectations.
    • Projects are delivered on time, within budget, and efficiently.
    • Deliverables are deployed and transitioned smoothly to agencies.
    • Compliance with TransCore policies, standards, and best practices.
    • O&M projects meet contractual obligations.
  • Prepares project plans to guide execution toward successful completion.
  • Communicates project information, including approach, progress, forecasts, and issues, to stakeholders.
  • Leads internal and external project meetings, ensuring clarity of roles and expectations.
  • Provides guidance on best practices and standards.
  • Monitors team progress, identifies blockers, and facilitates training as needed.
  • Reviews project proposals or plans to determine timelines, funding, procedures, staffing, and resource allocation.
  • Defines and tracks project metrics, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Reports project status to senior management and prepares required reports.
  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve issues.
  • Assigns tasks to optimize team performance and procures necessary resources.
  • Identifies and mitigates risks proactively.
  • Manages project teams by tracking performance, providing feedback, and motivating staff.
  • Administers relevant subcontract agreements.
  • Coordinates company responses to RFPs or customer requests for quotations.
  • Demonstrates ability to solve problems independently and collaboratively.

Requirements and Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
  • Bachelor's degree and 10-13 years of related experience (including at least 4 years in management), or equivalent combination of education and 18-21 years of related experience (including at least 4 years in management).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Advanced project management capabilities.
  • Strategic planning and risk management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools such as MS Project and Smartsheet.
  • Excellent communication skills for internal teams and client interactions.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
