Job description

Instructional Associate  
QUALIFICATIONS:      High School Diploma required
REPORTS TO:             Certified Teacher and Principal
JOB GOAL:                  To assist teachers in creating a classroom and school environment in which all students are provided the necessary supports to be successful academically, socially, and emotionally.
PERFORMANCE REPONSIBILITIES:





  1. Assists individual children with special needs.
  2. Assists in the preparation of classroom activities.
  3. Implements behavior intervention plans.
  4. Administers, scores, and records assessments recommended by the certified teacher for individual students.
  5. Works with small groups of students to reinforce academic content taught by a teacher.
  6. Assists certified teacher with non-instructional classroom duties such as classroom procedures, bulletin boards, attendance, copying, lunch supervision, playgroup supervision, and arrival and dismissal supervision.
  7. Records data to provide information regarding students' I.E.P. goals.
  8. Assists substitutes assigned in the absence of the certified classroom teachers.
  9. Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers.
  10. Assists with school sponsored activities.
  11. Demonstrates a positive enthusiastic demeanor when working with students, staff, and parents.
  12. Performs other functions according to the need of the school at the direction of a certified teacher of building administrator.
  13. Is punctual and maintains a good attendance record.

EVALUATION:     Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with state and board
regulations/policies by the building principal.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
 




Ten month year. 

Salary: The salary for this position shall be set in accordance with the negotiated salary guidelines in the VTEA agreement, https://www.voorhees.k12.nj.us/our-district-09/employment-opportunities/emplyment-contracts

Benefits: Full-time employees are eligible for medical, dental and vision benefits. Sick, personal, and bereavement days are provided. Certain professional development and/or training may be eligible for reimbursement. Position is eligible for membership in PERS.
