Rubenstein Public Relations has a 30-year legacy of working with clients across various sectors, including business, technology, finance, real estate, and luxury brands. We are seeking an experienced Account Director to join our corporate PR team at our Midtown New York office. Here, you will join a team that builds brands and enhances the culture and commerce of companies worldwide by securing tier one media coverage. Our team achieves this by elevating messaging and strengthening growth strategies through strategic initiatives.
Schedule: Monday-Thursday in our Midtown office, Fridays remote.
This role requires extensive pitching and placing in top tier print, broadcast, digital, and podcasts.
We are looking for an Account Director to work with our general, financial, business, and technology clients. Clients include AI and Quantum clients, investment management firms, cybersecurity, MedTech, BioPharma, FinTech organizations, and many others. You will lead strategy, manage teams, and build strong relationships with clients and the media.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop PR strategies for your clients and guide your team through execution
  • Manage day-to-day account operations, keeping projects on track and within budget
  • Write press releases, pitches, messaging documents, strategy, and bylines
  • Pitch stories to journalists and work to secure coverage in B2B and B2C publications
  • Mentor junior team members and help them develop their skills
  • Support new business efforts and look for ways to grow existing accounts

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, business communications, or related field
  • Pitching and placing represent a majority of your daily activities
  • Over 5 years of agency experience, preferably in the general, financial, or business services industries
  • Established media contacts across all media
  • Demonstrated ability to secure meaningful, high-impact coverage across print, digital, broadcast, podcasts and speaking opportunities
  • Exceptional client service skills with the ability to persuade and influence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with an ability to self-manage and guide teams
  • Highly organized and deadline oriented
