The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is adding a Senior Civil Construction Inspector - RPR to our Water team based in Northern Kentucky. This position will be dedicated 100% to field-based construction observation and monitoring for the nation's largest dedicated PFAS treatment facility. Project is anticipated to span two years. This is a full-time opportunity for an experienced construction professional to serve as the Engineer's representative in the field on a major public infrastructure project.

Position Summary:
The Senior Civil Construction Inspector - RPR serves as the eyes and ears of the Engineer, providing full-time field construction observation and monitoring for a PFAS Water Treatment Plant project. This role ensures construction activities comply with project documents, specifications, and safety standards, while supporting the Construction Manager and maintaining strong coordination with contractors and clients.
Essential Job Functions:
The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
• Observe and report daily construction progress and monitor compliance with project plans and specifications.
• Document site activities by maintaining accurate Daily Reports, project photographs, test reports, and construction record documentation.
• Maintain accurate quantity records as required and assist in generating deficiency lists.
• Review project progress regularly with the contractor and proactively address issues in coordination with Tetra Tech design resources.
• Coordinate and liaise with client representatives and contractors, keeping the client informed of activities that may affect operations.
• Coordinate with third-party materials testing firms for soils, concrete, bituminous, bearing, and related testing services.
• Advocate for site safety and report safety concerns to the contractor and client.
• Monitor and track additional work, including Work Change Directives, Field Orders, and Change Orders.
• Assist the Construction Manager with minor construction management tasks as directed.
• Supervise additional field personnel as required.
• Attend preconstruction and progress meetings.
Required Qualifications:
• 10+ years of experience in construction inspection or resident project representative (RPR) roles.
• Experience in construction inspection of large plant facilities.
• Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to perform full-time fieldwork in varying weather conditions and traverse rough or uneven terrain.
• Ability to walk, stand, climb ladders, and perform light to moderate physical activity throughout the workday.
• Occasional operation of survey or inspection equipment and exposure to active construction sites.
Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
• 100% field-based work at an active construction site for the duration of the project.
• Exposure to extreme weather conditions, heavy construction equipment, heights, and potential environmental hazards.
• Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
