Position Summary:
The IT Manager oversees day-to-day technology operations and serves as a key technical resource for the organization's IT infrastructure, network, systems administration, vendor management, and end-user support. This position requires flexibility and the ability to function and manage across our IT environment. This role coordinates IT operations, collaborates with internal stakeholders and external vendors, and supports organization-wide technology initiatives that improve efficiency, security, and overall performance.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Operations
  • Monitor daily IT operations to ensure system reliability and performance
  • Resolve escalated technical issues by coordinating with vendors and internal teams
  • Provide advanced high-level oversight for hardware, software and systems applications (Examples: SharePoint, Paylocity HRIS, Smartsheet)
  • Support user account administration, permissions, system access, and onboarding/offboarding processes
  • Maintain documentation related to systems, procedures, configurations, and operational workflows
  • Assist in the development and enforcement of IT policies, standards, and best practices

Strategic Initiatives & Project Support
  • Support organizational technology initiatives and operational improvement projects
  • Coordinate implementation activities for system upgrades, integrations, and new technology solutions
  • Partner with department leaders to identify operational needs and recommend technology solutions
  • Assist in evaluating emerging technologies and process improvements to support organizational goals
  • Participate in strategic planning discussions related to IT operations and infrastructure

Vendor Coordination
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for external IT vendors, consultants, and service providers
  • Coordinate vendor deliverables, service requests, maintenance schedules, and issue resolution
  • Monitor vendor performance and assist with contract and service-level agreement compliance
  • Collaboration with Supervisor regarding technology purchases and renewals

Security & Compliance
  • Support cybersecurity initiatives, system monitoring, and operational risk mitigation efforts
  • Assist with maintaining compliance related to data privacy, system access, and organizational policies
  • Coordinate security updates, patches, and operational safeguards with vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning activities

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive IT operations or systems support experience, preferably in a Life Science or Global Health environment
  • Experience coordinating with external technology vendors
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-based IT infrastructure, collaborative platforms, systems administration, and operational support practices
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and operational risk management, familiarity with NIST 800-171/Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Ability to travel domestically for all staff meetings.

Using benchmarking and salary survey data, the annual salary for this position ranges from $110,000 - $125,000. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, and certifications/degree. As a grant-funded organization, Sabin actively seeks funding for existing and new programs.
