Role Description:

Become a Yard Spotter/Local Driver for the dedicated team at Red Baron Transportation at our Darlington, SC, location. In this role, you are a crucial part of our logistics operations. You'll be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers and containers around the yard using yard tractors or forklifts. This ensures deliveries and pickups happen on time and keeps the yard organized.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely maneuver trailers and containers around the yard, ensuring they are positioned correctly for loading or unloading at designated docks.
โ€ข Communicate clearly with truck drivers using hand signals or radios to guide them into position for docking.
โ€ข Maintain a clean and organized yard environment, free from debris that could cause hazards.
โ€ข Conduct pre-trip inspections of yard equipment and report any maintenance issues.
โ€ข May assist with loading and unloading trailers as needed.
โ€ข Keep accurate records of trailer movements and locations.
โ€ข Follow all safety protocols and company procedures

Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Class A driving or related roles.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail, adhering to schedules and delivery timelines.
  • Work well independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
  • Have experience with Electronic Logging Devices (ELD).
  • Possess a positive attitude, adaptability, and a solid work ethic.
  • Clean MVR and background, valid Medical Card.
  • Must be registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
