Requirements
The Church
We are a small rural independent evangelical congregation located in Northern California. Glenburn Community Church is located in a beautiful farmland valley, complete with hunting and fishing as continuous activities....and is in Shasta County, 70 miles east of Redding.We are near the community of Fall River Mills and MacArthur, California. We may have an attendance of 85 or more on a major Christian holiday Sunday, and our current average Sunday attendance is between 35 to 50 people.We are 50% elderly, and a mix of younger families comprise the balance.Glenburn Community Church was established in 1885 in this farming and logging area 140 years ago.It has always had a somewhat 'Baptist leaning' as it was begun by a Baptist farmer.We are truly evangelical, and conservative in nature and subscribe to expository teachings such as Allister Begg, Dr. David Jeremiah, John MacArthur, and other noteworthy Moody Radio ministers.We hold Scripture to be wholly reliable and authoritative in all manners of life and conduct.
The Candidate
Our ideal candidate would be a true man of God who has some formal training and experience in teaching and preaching and pastoral ministry.He should have a heart of compassion and zeal to encourage, instruct, challenge, and lead us forward in sanctification and evangelism. This Pastor will need to have a sincere appreciation for country and rural life and understand the rhythms of seasonal farming and the timber industry. We are asking The Lord for a man who is married to a wife of wisdom and in complete accord to the task of supporting her husband and raising a godly family. She must be a sincere believer, indeed born again, and displaying sincere attributes of faith, Scriptural awareness, and a certain sense of hospitality and empathy toward others with a heart of prayerful and loving helpfulness.
