Job Brief
Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a Materials Coordinator for our client. This role is responsible for planning and procurement of machines and assigned commodities from assigned suppliers using the SAP system. Plan, purchase, and negotiate pricing of materials and machines from our partners and suppliers in support of the forecast and/or project requirements. Create and execute production orders in support of projects. This includes production control of all materials as required. Work with various groups and individuals to convey material status to the order fulfillment team.
What’s a Typical Day Like?
  • Machine and Option Kit Ordering
  • Review with Inside Sales and Master Scheduler requirements for machine ordering from MA and MT
  • Enter SMART orders for machines ordered from MT
  • Create SAP projects for machine orders and non-machine projects as required (TK, IN with no machines)
  • Enter SAP purchase orders, send and follow up on same for MA and MT machine purchases
  • Maintain open projects and POs for changes relating to price, delivery and/or content
  • Work with Order Fulfillment Team Leader to resolve machine damage and/or missing parts issues related to machine orders
  • Resolve machine invoicing issues and follow up on back ordered parts from MA or MT
  • As directed by the Materials Control Specialist or Purchasing Manager, enter SMART orders for established option kit requirements and follow with SAP purchase orders and tracking
  • Act as primary contact with both MA and MT for procuring machines and components for plant 500 requirements
  • Requires placement of orders and all means of follow up with each company on deliveries, shortages and returns
  • Communicate to requestors material status on these open orders
  • Work to local source, where feasible, problem components from a price or delivery standpoint
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with the overseas counterparts
  • Primary person to update MT delivery status in SAP using MT flight data
  • Review planned orders in SAP for required dates and shortages
  • Report to the Master Scheduler upcoming conflicts for materials and/or delivery issues for early resolution or planning of alternatives
  • Handle conversion from planned to production order, notification of the stockroom, follow up with accounting for closing out complete orders
  • Coordinate the movement of materials and the supply of labor in support of production orders
  • Tracking and fulfilling shortages to open production orders
  • Respond to urgent procurement requirements by Install and/or Order Fulfillment Team to support machine installations
  • Maintain professionalism and stay abreast of new developments through contacts with educational institutions, professional organizations, industry shows, publications, and in-house training.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary to meet the needs of the business.
What Are the Requirements of the Job?
  • Two to five years’ experience with materials in an SAP environment
  • Experience with BOMs, planned and production orders, material masters, purchase requisitions and purchase orders, material types, procurement types, material reports all helpful
  • Product engineering understanding

  • Analytical purchasing & problem-solving skills

  • Education – Associate degree in a technical or business related field, or commensurate planning or purchasing experience.
  • Work Experience - 2-3 years production planning or purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • NAPM and/or APICS Preferred
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to move or lift up to 50+ lbs.
  • Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel.
  • Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination.
  • Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Communication skills.
