Job description

Quality Control Specialist / QC Specialist
Location: Hamilton, MT - Fully Onsite
Pay: $30.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday

We are seeking a Quality Control (QC) Specialist to join a pharmaceutical manufacturing team in Hamilton, Montana. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career scientific professional looking to gain hands-on experience in a regulated GMP laboratory environment.
No prior industry experience is required. Candidates should have a scientific educational background that provides an understanding of laboratory testing concepts, scientific principles, and mathematical calculations.
What You'll Do
The QC Specialist will perform routine laboratory testing in areas such as Microbiology, Wet Chemistry, and/or Chromatography to support the manufacture and release of pharmaceutical products and incoming materials.
Responsibilities include:
  • Perform laboratory sampling and testing according to written methods and procedures.
  • Accurately document and report test results with a focus on right-first-time execution.
  • Apply scientific principles and understand the fundamentals of the analytical methods and assays being performed.
  • Review GMP assay data and communicate findings to manufacturing and quality teams.
  • Assist with laboratory investigations, troubleshooting, and problem solving.
  • Support non-routine testing, studies, and laboratory projects.
  • Assist with the qualification, operation, and scheduled maintenance of laboratory equipment, including automated and computerized systems.
  • Identify and escalate equipment, testing, or assay issues as appropriate.
  • Follow current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), quality systems, safety requirements, and established laboratory procedures.
  • Maintain laboratory areas and documentation in a state of inspection readiness.
  • Support QC and site operations while working collaboratively with laboratory, manufacturing, and quality colleagues.
  • Follow applicable safety and environmental procedures, including appropriate handling of laboratory waste.
  • Perform additional laboratory and departmental responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications
  • Scientific education/background sufficient to understand laboratory testing concepts, scientific principles, and mathematical calculations.
  • No previous pharmaceutical or industry experience required.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and general computer systems.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work in laboratory, manufacturing, and open-office environments.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, holidays, and/or weekends if business needs require.
