Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Manufacturing Systems Engineer to lead the technical planning and integration of our digital manufacturing landscape for our Medium Caliber Cannon production programs in our Mesa, AZ facility.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between IT/OT and the shop floor, ensuring our production systems-including ERP, MRP, and MES-are implemented and optimized. You will act as a key architect of our digital factory, following projects from conceptual design through long-term sustainment.

Position Description:
  • Provide technical planning for implementation and application of Manufacturing Systems (ERP, MRP, MES, IT/OT, RFID, product labeling, etc)
  • Develop and publish requirements for Manufacturing System implementation
  • Develop and status project planning for Manufacturing System implementation
  • Follow projects through all manufacturing readiness level phases from conceptual design through sustainment, maintenance and support
  • Develop process diagrams for Manufacturing Systems
  • Understand interactions between Manufacturing Systems
  • Plan and perform system level testing for new features, patches, and continuous improvement
  • Acts as Subject Matter Expert on Manufacturing Systems such as Solumina MES, SAP (MBOM, Part Master, Routings)
  • Focus on emerging manufacturing capabilities and digital technologies
  • Understand, develop, and perform data analysis for key process indicators

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of experience, a Master's degree plus 0 years of experience, or a PhD plus 0 years of experience
  • Engineering experience in supporting a production environment
  • Experience working with Manufacturing Systems software (ERP, MRP, MES)
  • Proven partnership/collaboration skills and ability to partner with cross functional disciplines within a team
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, presentation)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with MES and/or software that maintains routings and production data
  • Experience with MRP software (SAP, CostPoint, etc)
  • Experience with PLM Software (Teamcenter, Windchill, etc)
  • Experience with using 3D modeling software (Solidworks, NX, Pro-E, etc)
  • Experience working with Aerospace/Military standards and implementation of standards across cross-functional teams

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
