Position Overview:
We are seeking an Assurance Associate who is committed to delivering personal attention and exceptional service to clients while supporting audit engagements, preparing workpapers, and identifying value-added recommendations. This role offers meaningful opportunities to advance technical skills and take on increasing responsibility within a growing assurance practice.
Essential Functions:
• Prepare for audits, including trial balance and lead sheet setup, schedule creation, and analysis.
• Verify accuracy of client accounting records and update financial statements.
• Develop an understanding of client businesses and industries.
• Meet budget and realization goals while supervising staff accountants to ensure they meet their targets.
• Identify client issues and service needs during engagements.
• Participate in recruiting efforts for staff and interns.
• Stay current on accounting developments and research technical issues.
• Identify and propose solutions to managers and partners for problem areas.
• Provide value-added suggestions from audits and reviews for client benefit.
• Meet assigned chargeable hour goals.
• Participate in internal training as appropriate.
• Work toward passing the CPA exam if not yet completed.
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA license strongly preferred.
• Two to five years of public accounting experience preferred.
• Solid understanding of basic accounting procedures and GAAP.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong multitasking abilities with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
