About the Role:
The VP of Corporate Development will be the architect and driving force behind the company's inorganic growth strategy. This leader will own the full life cycle of BizDev, from sourcing proprietary opportunities to negotiating and closing high impact transactions. The role requires a highly driven dealmaker who combines strategic vision with exceptional executional intensity. This individual must have great instincts, the discipline of a seasoned operator, and the judgment required to shape the company's long term acquisition roadmap.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the VP of Corp Dev will build and lead a high performance CorpDev team. The Vice President of Corporate Development will report into this role, ensuring alignment between sourcing, commercial evaluation, and execution. The successful candidate will establish the processes, relationships, and market intelligence needed to scale an BizDev engine that consistently identifies and closes valuable deals.
The VP of Corp Dev will transform the company's acquisition capability from opportunistic to strategic. This role will supercharge deal sourcing, increase the volume and quality of targets, and ensure that the company consistently closes transactions that accelerate growth. The ideal candidate is relentless, well connected, strategically sharp, and capable of turning the company's inorganic vision into realized impact.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and refine the company's CorpDev thesis across markets, customer segments, product adjacencies, and capabilities.

  • Translate the corporate strategy into a prioritized acquisition roadmap that accelerates growth and strengthens competitive positioning.

  • Establish a structured approach to evaluating opportunities, managing trade offs, and presenting recommendations to executive leadership and the board.

Deal Sourcing and Origination

  • Build a proprietary sourcing engine by leveraging personal networks, banker and broker relationships, industry events, market mapping, and proactive outreach.

  • Maintain continuous visibility into the market landscape and emerging trends.

  • Ensure that top tier opportunities consistently enter the pipeline and that the company is positioned as a preferred acquirer in the space.

Deal Negotiation and Execution

  • Own the end to end execution of transactions. Lead negotiations on terms, structure, and valuation.

  • Oversee diligence across financial, commercial, operational, legal, and technical dimensions, ensuring that risks are understood and mitigated.

  • Partner closely with the Director of Investor Relations and Strategic Finance on financial diligence and modeling.

  • Drive clarity, pace, and accountability across all workstreams to move deals to close.

Cross Functional Coordination

  • Serve as the central point of integration across business development, finance, operations, technology, HR, and legal.

  • Ensure that diligence findings translate into clear recommendations and integration plans.

  • Collaborate with senior leaders to assess strategic fit, synergy potential, and execution readiness.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead and mentor the Vice President of Business Development, the BizDev Associate, and future team members.

  • Establish a high performance culture grounded in rigor, speed, and commercial instincts.

  • Build processes, systems, and tools that create a repeatable and scalable BizDev engine.

Market and Competitive Intelligence

  • Continuously analyze competitors, adjacent markets, and emerging business models.

  • Bring forward insights that inform the company's long term strategy and acquisition priorities.

  • Anticipate shifts in market dynamics and position the company to capitalize on opportunities before competitors.

Executive and Board Communication

  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, deal memos, and strategic briefs to the CFO, President/COO, CEO, and board of directors.

  • Provide a fact based point of view on which opportunities merit pursuit and which should be declined.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or a comparable deal focused environment

  • Demonstrated track record of originating, negotiating, and closing transactions

  • Deep financial, commercial, and strategic acumen with the ability to navigate complex diligence processes

  • Strong network within relevant industries and the ability to cultivate new relationships that generate proprietary deal flow

  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills and proven ability to influence at all organizational levels

  • High bias toward action, with the drive, decisiveness, and resilience necessary to pursue competitive opportunities and win

  • Experience building and leading teams and establishing scalable CorpDev processes

  • Bachelor's degree required. MBA or advanced degree preferred but not mandatory
