Job Summary

The Payroll Specialist will process weekly payroll and maintain employee time records.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees’ hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
  • Process weekly timecards using payroll software, handling calculations, and ensuring accurate posting and updates.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential payroll files, employee records, time records, and supporting documentation for records retention policies, audits and regulatory inquiries.
  • Partners with the Controller and Senior Payroll Specialist to facilitate seamless departmental processes and uphold labor compliance standards.
  • Support payroll audits (internal & external) by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Perform additional payroll or administrative duties as needed to support accounting department.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software.

  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in payroll processing
  • Prior experience processing high-volume weekly payroll a plus.
  • Experience with LCPTracker, Elations, or other certified payroll platforms a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Employment Type: Full Time
Salary: $24 - $35 Hourly
Bonus/Commission: No
