Job description

Summary

We are representing a well-established mechanical contractor seeking an experienced Estimator to support mechanical and plumbing construction projects. This role is responsible for developing accurate estimates across plan and spec, design assist, and design-build work. The ideal candidate understands labor production, material pricing, subcontractor buyout, and risk evaluation, and can collaborate closely with operations and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare mechanical and plumbing estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor scopes

  • Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications

  • Develop pricing using internal productivity factors and historical project data

  • Assist with plan and spec, design assist, and design-build proposals

  • Review subcontractor and vendor quotes for scope completeness and accuracy

  • Prepare and track bid RFIs and maintain estimating logs

  • Attend job walks and pre-bid meetings as required

  • Provide conceptual budgets, ROMs, and value engineering options

  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure bids are complete and executable

  • Maintain organized estimating files and documentation

  • Meet with clients to review estimates and pricing assumptions

Qualifications
