Job Title: Sales Estimator
Department: Production / Estimating
Reports To: President
Location: Raleigh, NC (servicing surrounding areas)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Position Overview
The Sales Estimator is responsible for developing new business relationships and accurately estimating restoration and reconstruction projects resulting from water, fire, storm, and other property damage. This position combines sales, estimating, and customer service functions to drive revenue growth and ensure timely, profitable project delivery. The ideal candidate has a strong background in restoration estimating (Xactimate and Albi), excellent communication skills, and a customer-first mindset.
Key Responsibilities
  • Sales & Customer Relations
    • Generate and develop leads through networking, property managers, insurance adjusters, and direct homeowner contacts.
    • Conduct site inspections and build strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Prepare and present professional estimates to clients, insurance representatives, and program administrators.
    • Follow up on pending proposals to secure contracts and meet monthly sales goals.
  • Estimating & Project Development
    • Accurately scope losses and produce detailed estimates using Xactimate and Albi software.
    • Review job site photos, mitigation reports, and project documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
    • Collaborate with project managers and coordinators to ensure smooth project transitions from estimate to production.
    • Update and revise estimates based on adjuster feedback, supplemental work, or change orders.
  • Documentation & Compliance
    • Maintain accurate job records and documentation in company systems.
    • Ensure estimates meet insurance carrier and program requirements (Crawford, Alacrity, Contractor Connection, etc.).
    • Track and manage all assigned leads, estimates, and awarded projects through completion.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in restoration or construction estimating (insurance restoration preferred).
  • Proficient in Xactimate and Albi platforms (required).
  • Working knowledge of restoration processes including water mitigation, fire/smoke, and rebuild scopes.
  • Strong understanding of insurance claim documentation and approval processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
