POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible to provide an uplifting, distraction-free, and Christ-centered camp experience by 1.) Ensuring meals are cooked and served in a timely manner and up to the standard that is expected, 2.) maintaining the standards of cleanliness set in place by Food Service Manager and the San Diego department of Health, 3.) Working with the rest of the Food Service department to ensure Food service vision is seen by all camp and guests. Celebrate the Prodigal Son.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
โ€ข The employee must accept the lodging from PCCC as a condition of employment to carry out responsibilities of the fire evacuation plan. The employee would not be able perform this service without the lodging.
โ€ข Must take part in the fire evacuation plan for the area that they are assigned.
โ€ข 1.) Ensuring meals are cooked and served in a timely manner and up to the standard that is expected
o Required to get meals out on time and at the expectation of the Food Service Manager's quality standard.
o Complete dishes from any given meal in a timely manner.
o Read next day's menu to make pulls and prep with the direction of Food Service Manager and Coordinator.
o Maintains food expectations and preparation at all times.
o Follow recipes that have been set in place by Food Service manager and Coordinators
โ€ข 2.) maintain the standards of cleanliness set in place by Food Service Manager and the San Diego department of Health.
o Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and storeroom (work clean)
o Complete all daily cleaning tasks given by Food Service Manager and Coordinators
โ€ข 3.) Work with the rest of the Food Service department to ensure Food service vision is seen by all camp and guests. Celebrate the Prodigal Son.
o Notify Food Service Manager of needed repairs or safety issues.
o Assist in maintain an inventory of needed supplies; notifying the Food Service Manager of any items that needs to be ordered.
o Ensures that guests needs are met at all times.
o Keep regular, timely attendance while maintaining a clean, safe and unobstructed workplace*
o When needed assist other departments around camp to ensure guests have a Christ centered experience.

Requirements
JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrates a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, exercising personal faith through consistent daily living in accordance to God's Word
  • Understands the mission of Palomar Christian Conference Center and is in agreement with its Statement of Faith, and submits all other goals and desires to that main goal
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possesses interpersonal skills such as are required to maintain positive relations with both staff and guests
  • Possesses excellent customer service skills and presents a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Possesses strong attention to detail and organization while managing multiple priorities
  • Is teachable in managerial and interpersonal skills, is self-directed, flexible, creative and a good communicator.
  • Enjoys and relates well with others, exhibits patience and a strong Christian witness.
  • Must have or obtain a food handler's certificate
  • Must have a basic understanding of cooking principles and knife skills
  • Must be able to cook a meal start to finish for at least 50 people by yourself.
  • Able to stand, sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may be required to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.

Typical Work Schedule
  • 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
