The Mailroom Clerk handles bank-related courier services, post office delivery and mail pick-up, shipment processing, and fulfillment responsibilities as directed by the Logistics Manager.
Compensation range for this position is $16-$18.72/hour
This is a full time, onsite position located at our office in Lindale, Texas
How You'll Contribute
  • Maintain operational hours (M-F 8am-4pm) for mail/package drop off at the Mail Room.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Deliver and pick up all mail at Lindale Post office, as directed (including all post office boxes).
  • Deliver locked bank deposits and other business as needed.
  • Log in packages and mail for ship, pack, and send.
  • Sort all mail (minus donor gifts) for delivery to ship or International Support Center.
  • Coordinate outgoing mail, FedEx, UPS shipments for departmental and personal shipments and DHL for crew mail shipments.
  • Select appropriate shipping methods to optimize cost and delivery time.
  • Track shipments and communicate all issues to Logistics manager. • Maintain inventory of shipping supplies,
  • Vet all items going to a Mercy Ships vessel to ensure that no prohibited items are shipped.
  • Distribute internal mail.
  • Order supplies as needed.
  • Balance cash box (monthly) for Mailroom.
  • Maintains alignment and upholds Mercy Ships Core Values, Code of Conduct, and follows the policies and procedures published on Compass.

Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or its equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in warehouse environment is preferred.
  • Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.
  • Or equivalent combination of experience and education.
