Job description

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 18 years of experience across global category management, hardware product planning, commercial strategy, supply chain operations, or go-to-market enablement.
  • 10 years of experience leading multi-layered, global organizations, including direct management of senior leaders/managers of managers.
  • Experience driving commercial strategy, profit and loss (P&L) governance, pricing, or margin management for a global hardware or tech category.

Preferred qualifications:
  • MBA or Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience architecting 0-to-1 operational transformations, unifying cross-functional hardware lifecycle disciplines (e.g., Product Strategy, Launch Planning, Global Category Business Management).
  • Experience scaling multi-category product integration strategies in competitive global markets.
  • Expertise navigating macro hardware supply chain complexities, component cost dynamics (e.g., memory/semiconductor pricing), and global carrier/retail commercial constructs.
  • Executive presence with demonstrated success serving as an internal operational proxy and strategic interface for Managing Directors, VPs, and SVPs across Product Management, Hardware Engineering, Supply Chain, and Global Sales.

About the job
As the Senior Director, Pixel Mobile Products Business Operations, you will assume day-to-day operational leadership across three core pillars across the entire life cycle of the Pixel business: Product Planning and Strategy, Global Launch Planning, Global Category Business Management. You will assume ownership and a single point of accountability to design the right portfolio at the right price points, ensure excellence in launching products in market, and architect the right commercial frameworks, incentive structures, and investments to fuel Pixel's growth in an efficient and effective manner, in addition to supporting the execution of new strategic growth initiatives.
As the executive operational proxy for top leadership, this role acts as a primary strategic interface with Managing Directors, VPs, and SVPs across Product Management, Hardware Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, and Global Sales, alongside regional commercial directors in seven key markets.
The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $320000 - $445000 (USD) 40% bonus target equity benefits

Responsibilities
  • Unify and direct the complete commercial lifecycle for Pixel phones and accessories across Phase 1 (Product Planning), Phase 2 (Launch Planning), Phase 3 (Category Business Management) to eliminate handoff friction and accelerate growth and go-to-market business generation.
  • Assume day-to-day operational leadership over internal business execution, cross-functional alignment, and launch readiness across a global revenue base.
  • Drive global commercial frameworks, pricing/margin models, incentive structures, financial compliance, and pay-for-performance constructs across all Pixel phone and accessories categories.
  • Oversee global hardware release cadences and regional launch readiness across seven key markets, resolving critical path supply constraints, cross-functional dependencies, and regional execution friction between Product Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Commercial Sales.
  • Direct and develop a multi-layered organization of 25-30 full-time employees (including Directors of managers), cultivating operational aptitude, organizational successor depth, and cross-functional leadership across global teams.
