Duties: Lead Engineering Managers in delivering engineering solutions to agreed timescales, within budget & to an acceptable quality standard. Responsible for all aspects of the rolling stock operations & maintenance, fleet support & in-service technical troubleshooting, validation, obsolescence, and testing engineering, including for defining strategy, tenders, project execution and product support for all Alstom Operations & Maintenance sites including APM and light rail vehicles. Lead the in-service operations & maintenance, validation, test & obsolescence engineering groups. Manage the 24/7 troubleshooting support and engineering service requests. Maintain strong services and support alignment with the Maintenance Performance Centers in NAM. Lead the services engineering team in charge of all aspects of the obsolescence management process & procedures, reengineering and technical solutions Support Engineering to local train operations teams for detection, definition and implementation of the modifications of the maintained products to improve the reliability and serviceability, to reduce costs and improve the performances of the systems. Lead obsolescence engineering teams in providing engineering solutions to extend component life cycles. Bridge partnership between procurement teams and obsolescence engineering teams to provide cost reduction solutions for obsolete or single source parts. Develop the fleet support activities: at first line Operations Control Center (OCC) and 2nd line levels (Centralized control room). Own and perform the Life Cycle Cost (LCC) modelling process. Monitor progress of engineering problem solving & troubleshooting work and Quality, Cost, Delivery achievements. Maintain and develop engineering skills and competencies. Collaborate with Platforms to improve Services portfolio of products and services. Own the Configuration and Design Change Management and Engineering Management Processes. Manage the technical performances of the systems and provide REX to relevant Services Platform. Propose innovative maintenance solutions and support the Product Safety management system ensuring safety risks are mitigated in a timely manner. Support the NAM Bids (strategy, LCC, Spares, staffing) Interfaces with the stakeholders in the Certification processes. Manage departmental budget, priorities, resources, performance and reporting. Multi-site team management. Provide strategic planning, tender and bid scope and Eng costing sign off, plan cost control and quality of all Eng deliverables. Manage workload planning and mobilization. Resource management, performance evaluation, career development and succession planning.

Salary Range: $180,000/year to $200,000/year 

Up to 40% domestic/international travel required.


Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Logistics, or a related field and 10 years of experience in job offered or in a Head of Fleet Engineering – NAM Services related occupation.
