The University of Miami Health System ("UHealth") IT Department has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Epic Sr. Analyst.

The Epic Sr. Analyst initiates the implementation, builds, and modifies complex applications, and collaborates with key stakeholders, end-users, and application team members to optimize the application's configuration, function, and access. The incumbent supports junior staff members in day-to-day operations and resolving application issues.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Collaborateswith key stakeholders, end-users, and application team members to optimize the application's configuration, function, and access.

  • Servesas a primary support contact for applicationendusers.

  • Initiates the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the application.

  • Initiates all phases of testing andthe documentationof workflow design.

  • Performs the analysis of information technology in clinical work processes andvalidatesthe impactstothe workflow.

  • Initiates the identification of issues andguidesthe work to resolve them.

  • Supports junior staff members in the evaluation and resolution of service tickets, identification and implementation of application changes, retrieval of requested data, and execution of day-to-day operations.

  • Collaborates with trainers on application changes and new features to develop documentation and training strategies.

  • Works with stakeholders,thebusiness community, and end users to ensure the application meetsUHealth'sbusiness/clinical needs.

  • Participatesin on-call rotations and support andattendandparticipatesin,applicable committees.

  • Maintains regular communication with team members, including participating in weekly project team meetings.

  • Reviewsthe status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership.

  • Remains knowledgeable aboutUHealth'spolicies, procedures, and business operations.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Department Specific Functions:

The Epic Sr. Analyst, will focus on the infectious control module within EPIC works to ensure the information systems in the UHealth organization are working efficiently and effectively, including but not limited to EpicCare Ambulatory Core EMR (EpicCare Ambulatory, Care EveryWhere , MyChart, Workbench and several interface bundles), EpicCare Inpatient, Willow, ASAP, Beacon, Radiant, OpTime and Kaleidoscope. She/he provides necessary experience, knowledge, and technical support to ensure all aspects of applications and systems development, build and implementation. The candidate will analyze, define and apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems regarding business application systems with specific emphasis on infection control. The Epic Sr. Analyst will work closely with team members, staff and other personnel to gain and understanding of objectives and requirements for the assigned clinical system and will be responsible for trouble shooting problems and challenges within the clinical information systems which may include software problems, hardware issues or even networking difficulties.

  • Provides direction for the IT and analytical requirements for infection control reporting

  • Works closely with Infection Control Leadership to ensure EPIC tools are aligned with operational and quality requirements

  • Create end user documentation to include training materials and report writing/creation within the systems managed.

  • Lead, configure, build, produce and maintain NHSN Reporting, SSI Serveillance, Infection Control Specialized Reporting, Discrete Microbiology Data Quality, and analytics.Provides support to the providers, clinical managers, clinical staff and end users.

  • Participate in operational workflow validation including requirements, specifications, and gaining end user acceptance.

  • Responsible for leading software upgrades and testing from an application perspective to include test plan creation and validation.

  • Coordinate software updates and changes, review and test each new release, report application system testing results.

  • Perform periodic checks to ensure that data is entered and retrieved correctly and that all regulations regarding confidentiality and security are being followed.

  • Understand change impacts and resistance and formulate strategies with key stakeholders to address impacts and build commitment.

  • Provides support for designated application systems. Augments and facilitates the design, development, implementation of enhancements to existing business systems.

  • Facilitates database conversions and performs system analysis.

  • Train customers on applications/reports/solutions as required.

  • Leading junior team members' work efforts in the design, development, testing, implementation, and ongoing support of the application

  • Maintaining the scope, schedule, and quality of application projects

  • Serving as the primary support contact in all matters related to the application

  • Providing oversight and leadership to Associate Epic Analysts, Epic Analysts, and Senior Epic Analysts on the team

  • Manage SLA breaches by meeting with customers.

  • Ability to maintain appropriate and professional communication with business owners and end users.

  • Assists user management in setting priorities within that functional area.

  • Adhere to UHealth IT standards.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor'sdegree inrelevant field

  • Epic Bugsy/ICON Certification

  • 3-6 years of experience with clinical application development and support of users in a healthcare environment required.

  • Laboratory background is preferred

  • Experience with EPIC clinical system upgrades, implementations, and support required.

  • Ability to work evenings, nights, andweekendsas necessary.

  • Proficiencyin computer software (i.e.Microsoft Office).

  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and writtenform.

  • Ability to lead, motivate,developand train others.
