  • Lead and expand the Compliance Engineering department, building a world-class team of compliance engineers and security professionals
  • Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for compliance automation technologies and methodologies
  • Drive innovation in Policy as Code implementations and continuous compliance monitoring
  • Partner with executive leadership to align compliance engineering initiatives with business objectives
  • Establish department OKRs and performance metrics that demonstrate measurable compliance ROI
  • Ensure timelines and quarterly KPIs are met and hold team accountable
Technical Architecture & Implementation
  • Oversee the technical architecture and development of compliance automation solutions across AWS GovCloud and commercial cloud environments
  • Lead the design and implementation of automated security control inheritance mechanisms
  • Drive integration of compliance monitoring into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps workflows
  • Ensure seamless integration with identity management platforms and Zero Trust architectures
  • Champion the development of real-time compliance visibility and reporting capabilities
Compliance Framework Expertise
  • Lead System Security Plan (SSP) development and continuous authority to operate (cATO) processes

  • Stay current with evolving regulations and proactively adapt platform capabilities
Cloud Platform Mastery
  • Lead compliance engineering efforts across Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud and commercial regions
  • Drive Google Cloud Platform (GCP) compliance capabilities development and implementation
  • Oversee multi-cloud compliance architecture design and deployment strategies
  • Ensure proper implementation of cloud security controls including encryption, network segmentation, and access management
  • Champion infrastructure as code (IaC) practices for compliant cloud deployments
Required QualificationsEducation & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related technical field
  • 8+ years of experience in DevOps, cybersecurity, engineering, or related fields
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams
  • Experience with DoD compliance requirements (IL2-IL6), FedRAMP, NIST etc. and assessment processes
Technical Expertise
  • Expert-level knowledge of AWS services, particularly AWS GovCloud, with relevant certifications preferred (AWS Solutions Architect Professional, AWS Security Specialty)
  • Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and security controls
  • Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
  • Proficiency with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) in secure environments
  • Experience with Identity and Access Management solutions and Zero Trust architectures
  • Strong background in DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipeline security integration
Leadership & Communication
  • Proven ability to build, lead, and scale high-performing engineering teams
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in relevant technical field
  • Active security clearance (Secret or higher)

Location
This role is offered as a hybrid or remote position based out of our Sterling, VA office. The role does require eligibility for a US Secret clearance which includes being a US Citizen, clean background check etc. please ensure you met all the eligibility requirements before applying.
Salary
The base salary range for this position is between $180,000 - $200,000 depending on experience.
