Description
The Department of JSUOnline is accepting applications for its Instructional Technology Specialist position.
Examples of Duties
Coordinates LMS integrations with Information Technology, the University Bookstore, publishers, and third-party providers to support Canvas and academic technology tools.
Provides instructional technology support to faculty and students by troubleshooting issues and recommending solutions that enhance teaching, learning, and student success.
Evaluates, recommends, and integrates educational technologies that enhance curriculum, instruction, engagement, accessibility, and learning outcomes.
Shares best practices related to instructional technology, assessment, curriculum development, and digital learning.
Develops training materials and resources to support faculty, staff, and students' effective use of academic technologies.
Conducts workshops, webinars, and training sessions on instructional technologies and effective technology integration.
Supports online and hybrid course quality initiatives through technology best practices, course reviews, and continuous improvement efforts.
Maintains LMS and instructional technology reports to support assessment, planning, decision-making, and continuous improvement. Performs duties and responsibilities in support of a digital learning environment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in instructional technology, educational technology, instructional design, curriculum and instruction, information technology, education, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Experience supporting learning management systems (LMS), instructional technologies, or educational technology platforms in a higher education or academic environment.
Experience providing faculty training, technology consultations, and support for online, hybrid, or technology-enhanced learning environments.
Knowledge of instructional design principles, online learning best practices, accessibility standards, and technology integration strategies.
Demonstrated ability to evaluate, implement, and support educational technologies and LMS integrations.
Strong communication, problem-solving, project management, and collaboration skills.
