Job description

INDUSTRIES | CAREER OPPORTUNITY

Demand Planning Manager

Altavista VA | Planning

Plan What the Market Needs. Connect It to What We Can Build.

At BGF Industries, we don’t just manufacture materials—we engineer solutions that power industries from aerospace to automotive to advanced composites. Our planning organization connects customer demand, commercial priorities, supply requirements, and manufacturing capacity so the business can execute with greater speed and confidence.

THE OPPORTUNITY

BGF Industries is seeking an experienced Demand Planning Manager to lead demand and resource planning in a manufacturing environment. This role owns, adjusts, and optimizes forecast and sales data to support supply planning and financial forecasting while aligning customer demand with manufacturing capacity and capabilities.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Develop planning strategies and build a rolling 18-month demand plan at the SKU level.
  • Review, challenge, and refine demand forecasts using customer forecasts, market trends, sales history, production capacity, and operational capabilities.
  • Build project-specific demand plans and support cross-functional project teams.
  • Analyze forecast accuracy and recommend actions to improve planning quality.
  • Document material needs and connect demand requirements with supply and manufacturing considerations.
  • Facilitate regional and global demand planning and forecast arbitration.
  • Provide forecast and sales analysis to support business decisions.
  • Establish and improve demand-planning processes, tools, and operating rhythms.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Resource Managers, plant operational leaders, and Product Management.
  • Deliver planning outputs accurately and within established deadlines.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of five years of demand-planning experience required.
  • Strong Excel skills, including modeling and data analysis.
  • Manufacturing and supply-chain experience preferred.
  • Experience with Infor M3 or a similar ERP system preferred.
  • Familiarity with forecasting tools and statistical planning methods preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical judgment, communication, organization, and deadline management.

WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT

This is an opportunity to shape how demand planning is performed across the business. The successful candidate will have direct influence on forecast quality, resource planning, cross-functional alignment, and the connection between commercial demand and manufacturing execution.
