POSITION OVERVIEW:

Manage the overall creative direction of their respective brands and play a pivotal role in driving the creative direction of their team/group.  A leader who can grow young talent, inspire a team, foster a healthy work culture and inject innovative thinking into every assignment.  Responsible for providing the kind of oversight that will lead projects into new creative territories. A strong strategic thinker ready to be hands-on during all phases of a project from concept to execution.  Reports to the Executive Creative Director or the Chief Creative Officer.    

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the direction of projects and clearly present strategic and creative direction to the team and client 
  • Lead the development and execution of creative content rooted in insights for a variety of clients, including executing independently and responsible for overall output of the creative product 
  • Build and maintain stellar working relationships with clients, agency leadership and cross-functional agency teams   
  • Participate in new business pitches and represent our creative capabilities 
  • Provide creative leadership by setting high creative standards for their teams    
  • Responsible for attraction, recruitment and retention of top creative talent to grow the agency's creative capabilities 
  • Address performance issues directly and in a timely manner. Partner with ECD and HR when needed. 
  • Train and supervise team members. Oversee their creative efforts to ensure they are on strategy, on schedule, and are meeting creative standards. 
  • Responsible for maintaining calendars, time tracking and organizing personal schedules to effectively track and manage you and the team's time and resources. 
  • Oversee career development of team members. Perform reviews to determine strengths, growth opportunities, goals, and ambitions. 
  • Remain current on latest creative trends globally. Stay curious about award shows, past and present case studies, production companies, and everything that is being created by some of the best people and companies in our industry. Only by gaining an understanding of what kind of work moves you and what it takes to get there, you will then be able to create work that moves others. 
  • Stay on top of the latest technological advancements, including design software, digital tools, and platforms, to enhance creative processes and deliver innovative solutions 
  • Remain curious about pop culture, social media trends and your audience's interests and behaviors in order to infuse culturally relevant elements into briefs and campaigns. Bring the outside world into our work, so our brands can join the conversation. 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED: 

  • 10 + years of industry experience in a well-established, creative role with a proven track record of agency success 
  • 4 + years in creative leadership role 
  • Agency experience working across all channels 
  • Strong creative portfolio highlighting relevant/category experience and industry award winning work 
  • Solid verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to all levels of clients 
  • Knowledge of marketing, all forms of advertising, and digital experiences, with proven conceptual and design abilities 
  • Experience working with large teams in client-facing role 
  • Excellent written and presentation skills 
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
