Job description


Responsibilities of Food Runners include serving food orders to guests in a timely manner as well as keeping dining area clean. Make sure modifications are made to food items correctly and work directly with the chefs to communicate important information.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare dining room
  • Deliver food orders from the kitchen to guests' tables and the bar quickly and accurately
  • Answer guests' questions about ingredients and menu items
  • Present a professional manner at all times
  • Protect establishment and guests by adhering to sanitation and safety policies
  • Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g. proper temperature)
  • Act as the contact point between front of the house and back of the house staff
  • Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, being alert to guest spills or other special needs
  • Close dining facility by cleaning chairs and tables, sweeping and/or vacuuming floors, and removing trash and recyclables from the facility
  • Exemplify our core values, family style service, our mission and vision

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Experience using basic cleaning supplies such as brooms, dustpans, spray bottles, and towels
  • Experience using and cleaning cocktail trays, bus carts, glass and silverware racks, coffee and iced tea makers, juice dispensers, soda dispensers, soda Bag-in-Box system, sharp knives, and lemon slicer
  • High School diploma or equivalent

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Work may be performed in an area, which may be unusually noisy and crowded
  • Mobility to include bending, reaching, prolonged standing and walking, accessing and lifting items from floor level to six feet high
  • Normal sense of smell, touch, sound and vision range
  • Eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity
  • Work area is subject to variable temperatures
  • May be subject to smoking environment and moderate noise

GUEST SERVICE (INTERNAL/EXTERNAL) STANDARDS: Employee is required to meet and deliver our core values, service standards, and family style service.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must have the ability to provide internal/ external guests with service excellence, have excellent communication skills and observation skills, and have an easygoing demeanor to ensure a fun and safe environment for our guests. Above average speech - both speaking and reading/writing English. Need excellent interpersonal skills. Work requires schedule flexibility which may include days off, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
