Position Summary
This role will be one of the initial Taylor site Capacity Planning Engineers. This IC will be responsible for the capability and performance of their assigned Processing Tool groups. This individual is the Production & Systems SME for how to optimize the production capability of constraining tool groups. They will be coordinating strategies between the Production Teams and Fab Engineering teams to achieve monthly output requirements and delivery success. This role encompasses decision making from initial investment requirements, current production capabilities, and project management of capacity improvement actions to help further maximize tool performance and overall Fab output capabilities. Each individual in this team owns 1-3 Unit Parts depending on Unit Part complexity balanced with ownerships of other supporting projects. A large focus of this role over the course of the next 1-3 years will be coordinating the scheduling of tool installations for Taylor, tool qualification, analyzing tool performance to ensure that we have the capacity available to support the expected demand upon each PRC in time for output delivery. Investment analysis has been an increasing demand upon on this team, as we have multiple phases of investment being analyzed, it is this role's responsibility to confirm that we are investing appropriately to support a targeted output volume and to confirm that we are not removing a necessary production tool that could impact our current or future output demand that could result in a production bottleneck risk. Additional ownership of this role is coordinating Soft Idle dedication, to support cost savings efforts while also balancing the need for production demands.
Role and Responsibilities
Here's What You'll Be Responsible For:
  • Perform capacity analysis on factory bottlenecks for long term and short-term basis.
  • Identify actions to reduce capacity gaps and drive those actions to completion.
  • Regularly perform line analysis and supply chain forecasting, pinpoint production constraints and take actions to help improve line movement and line balance.
  • Regularly perform bottleneck investigations utilizing existing productions plans, tool performance metrics, and existing capacity projects.
  • Create summaries of problem areas and present risk to counterpart leadership.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and engineering groups to make output improvements using available scheduling systems as well as analyze resulting impact to quantify the benefit of any action taken.
  • Work with engineering teams to improve daily operations and optimize tool performance.
  • Perform equipment efficiency analysis and take action to make improvements.

Skills and Qualifications
Here's what you'll need:
  • B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering and other related Engineering or Applied Mathematics Major will be considered.
  • 5+ years' experience in Capacity Planning, Data Analytics, Project Management, Production Strategy or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Proficient in Factory Physics methodologies & supply chain management Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in data modeling and forecasting techniques.
  • Knowledgeable in SQL, Python or other scripting languages for data analytics and automation preferred.

The current base salary range for this role is between $70,480 - $179,090. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
