Description:

The General Construction Laborer installs the overall exterior structure of the project, including

installing siding, roofing, and doors, and depending on facility may install cable tray, cut and bend

busbar, and mount electrical gear in skids, e houses, and other IE-provided equipment.


Shift: Monday-Thursday 3p-130a

Requirements:

Technical Duties

• Independently construct and align complex structural frameworks and trusses, ensuring the core integrity of diverse modular units.

• Install siding and various exterior panel products on E-houses and metering skids with minimal oversight.

• Execute the complete installation of complex door assemblies and panic hardware to ensure secure, functional access.

• Install roofing systems and materials to provide weather-tight, long-term environmental protection and problem solve most common errors or failure pints.

• Assemble and mount common support infrastructure, such as cable trays, turnbuckles, and other support features according to prints.

• Cut and trim precision access holes and penetrations and resolve simple errors or misalignments.

• Position auxiliary equipment like HVAC units onto assembly mounts using proper rigging tools. Safely and creatively lift and mount equipment in non standard situations.

• Apply professional-grade waterproofing and caulking to all exterior seams, ensuring compliance with weatherproofing standards.

• Mount and secure a wide array of specialized electrical control equipment and sub-assemblies with high precision and alignment.

• Measure, cut, and precision-bend more complex bus bar systems to meet specific project engineering designs independently.

• Diagnose and resolve routine mechanical malfunctions and fabrication defects during the assembly process.

• Conduct quality inspections, verifying the mechanical integrity of units and correcting non-conformances.

• Safely execute complex rigging and lifting operations for multi-ton assemblies and specialized materials.

• Coordinate final unit detailing and prep for shipping to ensure all projects meet professional standards.

• Proactively manage personal workflow to meet rigorous production schedules and contribute to process improvement.


Tools and Equipment

• Various hand tools – wrenches, screwdriver, utility knife, laser level, drill and impact, skill saw, etc.

• Use overhead crane, forklift, scissor lifts, vacuum lifts, hoists, to assist in mechanical assembly and moving materials/projects

• Properly care for and maintain tools in good operating condition; ensure tools and equipment is properly stored at the end of each shift

• May operate sand blaster

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma plus one to three years of experience working as a skilled laborer in heavy industrial manufacturing operations or construction environment or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.


Work Schedule:

Must be able to work a 40 hour work week, and overtime as necessary.
