Description
The YMCA of Broome County is seeking a highly motivated, compassionate, and operations-driven professional to serve as Assistant Housing Director within our supportive housing program. This role partners closely with the Housing Director to manage day-to-day operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain efficient, high-quality program performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily building operations to ensure a safe, functional, and fully compliant environment for all residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of inspection forms, safety logs, and staff documentation to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Review, update, and refine emergency preparedness plans and ensure all required staff training is current and properly documented.
  • Collect, analyze, and compile data for monthly and quarterly reports as required by the Housing Director and governing agencies.
  • Participate in subcommittees of the Homeless Coalition of Broome County, contributing to coordinated community planning and service alignment.
  • Ensure timely completion of work orders and resolution of maintenance issues to maintain facility standards and habitability.
  • Provide comprehensive oversight of all staffing matters related to the Resident Support Officer (RSO) team, including scheduling, training and development, annual performance evaluations, and ongoing monitoring of daily work performance to ensure quality and compliance with program standards.
  • Lead the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and annual performance evaluations of management staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor to support overall program and organizational objectives.

Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Human Services, Social Work or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or in a related field
  • Knowledge of community resources and services
  • Knowledge of mental health and substance abuse
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Salary Description
$21.00 - 23.00 per hour
