Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and highly detail‑oriented Mid‑Level Quality Control Technician to support quality assurance activities in our PCB manufacturing and assembly operations. This role is ideal for a technician with hands‑on PCB inspection experience, familiarity with IPC standards, and the ability to work independently while supporting continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed visual and mechanical inspections of PCB bare boards and assembled PCBAs using microscopes, AOI, X‑ray, and measurement tools.
  • Ensure products meet IPC‑A‑600 / IPC‑A‑610 criteria, customer specifications, drawings, and internal quality standards.
  • Inspect component placement, solder joints, polarity, labeling, cleanliness, and overall assembly workmanship.
  • Conduct first‑article inspections (FAI) and prepare supporting documentation.
  • Perform root cause verification on nonconformances and assist in identifying corrective actions.
  • Support incoming material inspection and supplier quality activities.
  • Validate reworked assemblies and ensure compliance with agreed‑upon repair procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing, engineering, and process teams to address quality issues.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, quality logs, and traceability documentation.
  • Assist with maintaining and calibrating inspection equipment.
  • Participate in internal audits, process audits, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2–5 years of experience in PCB manufacturing, PCBA inspection, or electronics quality control.
  • Strong working knowledge of IPC‑A‑610, IPC‑A‑600, and general PCB assembly processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly documentation (BOMs, Gerbers, travelers).
  • Proficiency with microscopes, AOI systems, calipers, pin gauges, and measurement tools.
  • Solid understanding of SMT, through‑hole, reflow, wave soldering, and rework processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify subtle workmanship defects.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and support junior QC team members.

Preferred:

  • IPC‑A‑610 or IPC‑A‑600 certification (CIS or CIT).
  • Experience with X‑ray inspection (BGA, QFN analysis).
  • Experience performing First Article Inspections to AS9102 format (if applicable).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or related quality management systems.
  • Experience using MES/QMS systems for documenting inspection results.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently sitting, walking, standing, and bending.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and moving machinery.
  • Manual dexterity for handling small electronic components and tools.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive Pay: $18.00 – $19.00 per hour, based on experience.
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Paid Time Off: PTO and 14 holidays.
  • Professional Development: Training and IPC certification opportunities.
  • Employment Type: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (Occasional overtime as needed).
