Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shift, flexible start time
Type: Contract-to-hire - convert to a permanent employee with the client after 6 months
We are hiring an Electronics Assembler for a specialty ceramics manufacturer in Bellefonte, PA. The company is a leading producer of specialty elements. The parts you build go into defense systems, medical ultrasound equipment, precision actuators, and industrial sensors.
This is precision bench work, not a fast-paced line. If you take pride in a clean solder joint and enjoy detailed hands-on work, this is a long-term home.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Perform lead attachment on piezoelectric ceramic components (your primary day-to-day work)
- Solder wires, leads, and terminations to small ceramic parts and assemblies
- Perform potting operations and work with molds and fixtures
- Assemble small components requiring a high level of manual dexterity
- Follow work instructions, drawings, and established procedures
- Visually inspect your own work and flag parts that don't meet spec
- Record production data and complete basic documentation
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety requirements
- Work with production, quality, and engineering to resolve issues on the floor
WHAT YOU NEED
- Hands-on soldering experience, OR assembly experience with small precision components
- Strong manual dexterity and steady hands; comfortable working with very small parts
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
- Attention to detail and a quality-first mindset
- Reliable attendance and the ability to work independently after training
NICE TO HAVE (not required - we will train the right person)
- Soldering experience in electronics, medical device, or defense manufacturing
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 soldering standards
- Experience with potting, epoxy, or encapsulation processes
- Prior work in an ISO 9001 certified facility
- Experience with ceramics, sensors, transducers, or other small electronic components
