Are you an experienced electronics professional with a passion for precision, quality, and innovation? PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled Electronic Assembly Specialist to support advanced aerospace and defense manufacturing projects in Huntsville, Alabama.

In this role, you'll play a critical part in building, repairing, and enhancing sophisticated electronic systems that support cutting-edge technologies. If you have expertise in soldering, circuit card assembly rework, and interpreting technical documentation, this is your opportunity to contribute to work that truly matters.

What You'll Do

As an Electronic Assembly Specialist, you will perform detailed electronic assembly, modification, and repair work on circuit card assemblies (CCAs) while ensuring compliance with industry and military standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform rapid repair and rework of electronic and electrical circuit card assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Execute simple and complex modifications and repairs in accordance with IPC and J-STD requirements.
  • Assemble, install, adjust, and verify electronic components and assemblies.
  • Solder and desolder components at the component level using hand tools and specialized equipment.
  • Interpret and work from:
    • Technical drawings
    • Schematics
    • Wiring diagrams
    • 2D and 3D models
    • Process specifications and work instructions
  • Inspect completed assemblies for quality and compliance, including automated optical inspection (AOI) activities.
  • Identify, document, and report non-conformances down to the component level.
  • Collect and enter data for statistical process control analysis.
  • Maintain rework records, charts, logs, and reports.
  • Support process improvement initiatives by recommending repair and assembly enhancements.
  • Maintain required licenses, certifications, and permits.
  • Follow strict safety, quality, and environmental procedures, including hazardous waste handling when qualified.

1st Shift

  • Monday – Thursday
  • 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM

2nd Shift

  • Monday – Thursday
  • 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM

3rd Shift / Weekend

  • Friday – Sunday
  • 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM

Must be available to work any shift as business needs require.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work any assigned shift.
  • 5–7 years of experience performing electronic rework operations using hand and/or pneumatic tools.
  • 5 years of experience working with J-STD-001 requirements.
  • 5 years of experience performing soldering and electronic repairs at the component level.
  • 3 years of experience working with Department of Defense (DoD) and NASA assembly soldering specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong understanding of electronic component placement and circuit board assembly.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including:
    • File and folder management
    • Navigation of desktop and system settings
    • Printer connectivity
    • Mouse, keyboard, and shortcut usage
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, organized, and quality-focused work environment.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance. 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational, technical, or associate-level education in electronics or a related field.
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, military, or high-tech manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of circuit card assembly repair processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Additional industry certifications related to electronics assembly, soldering, or inspection.

Pay Details: $35.73 per hour
