Job description

All coaches at Rockford Area Schools are responsible for providing leadership, guidance and instruction to student athletes within their program. The coach reports to, and works closely with, the Activities Director along with other coaches to determine goals and direction of the program. The coach is responsible for the health, safety and welfare of every student athlete participating on their team.

The Assistant Volleyball Coach is responsible for assisting the head coach with organizing the volleyball program at Rockford High School. Position assists with conducting practices, motivating students, and instructing student athletes in game strategies and techniques. Responsible for designing and coordinating practices, assisting in scheduling competitions, assessing the skill level of players and creating teams, creating a positive team environment of respect and facilitating communication with the Activities Director, parents and players.

This position will start on August 17, 2026.
