Job description

Union College, a highly selective liberal arts institution located in Schenectady, New York is accepting applications for the position of part time temporary Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach. The women's volleyball program is a member of NCAA Division III and the Liberty League. Union College sponsors 27 intercollegiate sports, 25 in Division III, with Men's and Women's Ice Hockey competing at Division I.
This position will assist the Head Coach in all phases of the women's volleyball program (coaching, recruiting and administrative duties).

Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach - PT Temporary

Work Days: Varied

Shift Start/End Time: Varies based on the business need.

Hours Per Week: 10 hrs./week

Weeks Per Year: 14

Pay status and classification: Non-exempt, Temporary part-time. (10 hrs./week, 14 weeks/year). This position is not eligible for relocation assistance or visa sponsorship.

Supervisor: Head Women's Volleyball Coach

Position Purpose:

Union College, a highly selective liberal arts institution located in Schenectady, New York is accepting applications for the position of part time temporary Assistant Volleyball Coach. Union College sponsors 27 intercollegiate sports, 25 in Division III, with Men's and Women's Ice Hockey competing at Division I.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist the Head Coach in all phases of the women's volleyball program (coaching, recruiting and administrative duties).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience.

  • Collegiate playing/coaching experience preferred.

  • The ability to recruit within College, NCAA and Liberty League rules.

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and computer skills needed.

  • Candidates must have an understanding of NCAA rules and regulations, along with a philosophy compatible with a multi-classified liberal arts college with highly selective academic standards.

  • Candidate must be able to work with a diverse group of individuals.

The expected hourly rate for this position is $18.00. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
