Job description

Assistant Men's Volleyball Coach
Are you passionate about coaching and helping student-athletes achieve their full potential both on and off the court? St. Ambrose University is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Athletics Department in this 10-month position as an Assistant Men's Volleyball Coach. The successful candidate will have coaching responsibilities in volleyball and assist in the recruitment of the men's volleyball program.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in coaching during practices and games, providing constructive feedback and instruction.
  • Work closely with student-athletes to develop skills, improve performance, and foster team unity.
  • Contribute to strategy development for both individual players and team play, ensuring consistent progression.
  • Assist the Head Coach in the day-to-day operations of the Men's Volleyball program, including but not limited to: practice planning, game preparation, recruiting, and team management.
  • Assist in recruiting qualified student-athletes to join the volleyball program.
  • Collaborate with the athletic department to ensure the overall well-being and academic success of student-athletes.
  • Ensure compliance with NAIA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
  • Support team travel logistics, as needed, including organizing transportation and accommodations for away games.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (required).
  • Previous experience as a volleyball coach (preferably at the collegiate level).
  • Strong understanding of volleyball fundamentals, strategy, and player development.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations (preferred).
  • A commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes.

Benefits:
10-month position, August through May. Salary is $20,000 plus housing.
