Job description

Summary: The Architectural Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales and promoting MSI's countertop, flooring, and hardscape products within the architectural and design community. This role focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with architects, designers, specifiers, and other industry professionals to enhance brand awareness, generate leads, and support revenue growth.
Work Hours: Monday to Friday from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM, 1 Saturday(s) a month from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to grow revenue by $500K-$1M annually and meet sales targets within the architectural market segment.
  • Identify and prioritize key architectural firms, design studios, and related stakeholders to build and strengthen relationships that drive new business.
  • Proactively engage architects, designers, and specifiers to promote MSI products and secure specifications for current and future projects.
  • Partner with the marketing team to create tailored presentations, product samples, and promotional materials for the architecture and design community.
  • Deliver product education and training sessions to showcase MSI's offerings, highlighting key features, benefits, and applications.
  • Track project opportunities through all development phases and collaborate with local and national teams to ensure timely execution of project goals.
  • Maintain detailed project records to support consistent follow-up and resolution of issues with contractors and other stakeholders during construction.
  • Represent MSI at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to expand brand presence and uncover future project opportunities.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor activity, and market changes to proactively adjust sales strategies.
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Analyze sales and market data to identify trends, evaluate opportunities, and measure performance.
  • Prepare and submit accurate sales forecasts, reports, and documentation as required by management.
  • Willing to travel up to 90%, with most travel being local and occasional overnight trips.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Additionally the candidate must meet the following Education and/or Experience requirements;
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Previous sales experience is a plus, preferably in B2B, with architectural products or building materials.
  • Experience building relationships with architects, designers, and professionals preferred.
  • Knowledge of architectural design, construction processes, and project specifications preferred.
  • Strong communication, presentation, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM platforms preferred.
