Job Duties:
As the RN Lead in Apheresis, you'll lead a team of staff with responsibility for all operational functions of the team. Responsible for developing and initiating improvements in the organization and delivery of high quality, cost effective services. Responsible for access to and the flow of patients and their treatments.
  • A typical schedule is full-time, 40 hours weekly.
  • At least (2) years of RN experience is required.
  • Previous work experience as an RN with therapeutic and donor apheresis procedures assessing patient needs in a therapeutic apheresis program is preferred.

Position Details:
  • Leads team of staff with responsibility for all operational functions of the team. Responsible for developing and initiating improvements in the
    organization and delivery of high quality, cost effective services. Responsible for access to and the flow of patients and their treatments.
  • Oversees all aspects of assigned area which includes operational, quality and statistical.
  • Identifies and resolves discrepancies.
  • Leads the monitoring of customer satisfaction, turnaround time and other measurable parameters that represent indicators of departmental performance improvement.
  • Performs duties of the staff nurse within area of expertise.
  • Works in partnership as part of the team of clerical and nursing staff, and clinic support for the benefit of the patient.
  • Effectively manages people, resources and time in partnership with other team leaders to achieve results; shares resources as appropriate.
  • Proactively responds to and supports change; anticipates problems and effectively adjusts plans.
  • Balances short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Identifies and implements ways to reduce costs and streamline efforts within and between clinic areas while maintaining quality standards.
  • Adjusts to changing work needs and demands; helps others respond quickly; helps remove barriers to team effectiveness.
  • Structures work assignments to appropriate level to most effectively use resources; adjusts as needed.
  • Coordinates and manages the resources within the treatment room to maximize efficiency and safety.
  • Acts as mentor, teacher and coach to others includes new employees while maintaining their orientation folders and oversight; actively uses the team performance management process.
  • Motivates others to seek and participate in developmental opportunities.

  • Ensures all required performance improvement and quality control documentation is completed for assigned sections.

  • Identifies QC deficiencies, initiates and monitors corrective actions.
  • Participates in the interview and selection process for team members.
