JOB LOCATION: Cambridge, MA

POSITION: Research Senior Scientist

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Takeda Development Center Americas, Inc. is seeking a Research Senior Scientist in Cambridge, MA with the following duties: serve as the DMPK representative on projects to support gastroenterology, autoimmune and oncology Drug Discovery Units (DDUs) for developing novel drug therapy by providing molecular and cellular analysis support; Serve as the DMPK representative on projects to support gastroenterology, autoimmune and oncology Drug Discovery Units (DDUs) for developing novel drug therapy by providing molecular and cellular analysis support; support early drug development and translational research by providing scientific support with a focus on cellular and molecular quantification using cutting-edge technology, such as flow cytometry, ddPCR, Nanostring nCounter, and other assay platforms; communicate with internal stakeholders regarding the project needs, progress updates, and DMPK deliverables; perform innovative assay development, trouble-shoot bioanalytical assay related issues, and actively identify/adopt/develop novel technologies for capability building and to meet the ever-changing needs of projects together with key stakeholders in DMPK, different DDUs, and other Quantitative Preclinical and Translational Sciences (QPTS) groups; design, validate and implement new methodologies and processes (including in silico approaches) that contribute to the research goals of the group/department; summarize and present the experimental results in the cross-functional project teams and DMPK meetings; provide scientific monitoring and guidance to external resources (CRO) for the method transfer, development, trouble shooting, qualification, validation and report to support non-/pre-clinical development programs. Ensure the appropriate conduct of studies, lead the interpretation of study results, and prepare study reports suitable for internal or regulatory use.

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.

REQUIREMENTS: Doctorate degree in Pathobiology or related field. Prior experience must include: lead hypothesis-driven investigative research including in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo studies to drive novel therapeutic development including animal handling and biological sample handling; design, optimize, and implement molecular, cellular, bioanalytical, and biomarker assays including ELISA, PCR, neutralization assay, proliferation, flow cytometry and ELISPOT to assess transgenes, recombinant proteins, cytokines, antibodies, and immunogenicity for efficacy studies; apply advanced computational and statistical approaches to analyze and interpret large, complex datasets to support decisionmaking; analyze nucleotide and peptide sequences using bioinformatics or in silico tools to create and evaluate synthetic primers, plasmids, and other synthetic genes and peptides to support therapeutics development.

Full time. $137,000 - $215,270 per year.
