OverviewJoin the team at Geisinger Behavioral Health Danville, our new and growing behavioral health facility, as a Manager of Risk Management.In this key leadership role, you'll help create a safe, high-quality environment for patients and employees by leading risk management initiatives, driving continuous improvement, supporting compliance efforts, and partnering with clinical leaders to proactively identify and mitigate risk across the facility.Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:ย 

  • Direct and oversee the risk management program in collaboration with the corporate risk manager designee.ย  ย 
  • Investigate and analyze actual and potential risks in the facility; assess liability and probability of legal action for potential notification.ย  Implement, educate and encourage incident reporting system throughout the facility.ย 
  • Monitor and analyze program performance data to determine program effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.ย  Insure compliance with all administrative requirements. ย 
  • Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of programs or operations in meeting established goals and objectives in compliance with facility policy. ย 
  • Responsible for identifying high-risk areas that could cause harm to persons receiving services, visitors, and employees. Collaborate with clinical staff and management for prevention of clinical risks throughout the facility.ย 
  • Develop and lead educational activities to enhance the clinical understanding and utilization of the Full Disclosure process. ย 
  • Maintain database of full disclosure activities and provide oversight for review programs and provides technical support as needed. ย 
  • Provide staff management to including hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation.ย 
  • Serve as a resource and consultant for risk management activities, performance improvement, policy/procedure development and compliance initiatives. ย 
  • Create and implement policies and procedures that improve both patient care and employee safety. Ensure the application of institutional policies, especially those regarding patient rights, confidentiality and full disclosure. ย

  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.ย

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:ย 

  • Bachelor's degree in a clinical healthcare field, risk management, business, finance, or a related field required. ย 
  • Master's degree in health information management, nursing, or related field preferred.ย 
  • One or more years' supervisory experience required.ย 

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS: ย 

  • Certifications related to health care risk management, safety, and or process improvement highly preferred.ย 
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).ย 
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility.ย
